From Fear to Faith: A Daily Practice

1 July 20261 min readBy Gerty Nyirenda

People often think faith means never feeling afraid. I do not believe that. I have felt fear at every meaningful step of my journey. The difference now is that fear no longer gets the final word. It gets a seat, not the steering wheel.

Here is the simple daily practice that helped me make the shift.

Morning: set the tone

Before I reach for my phone, I reach for truth. One verse, one prayer, one deep breath. I am not trying to feel a certain way. I am choosing what my mind will hold first, before the world hands me its opinions.

Midday: check your posture

By the afternoon, fear likes to creep back in as worry, comparison, or hurry. I pause and ask one question: "Am I acting from fear right now, or from faith?" If it is fear, I do not scold myself. I simply choose one small, faith-led action to reset.

Evening: give it back

At the end of the day I write down what I am carrying and hand it over in prayer. Not because the problems vanish, but because I was never meant to sleep holding them. This one habit changed my rest and my mornings.

The shift

Fear to faith is not a single dramatic moment. It is a hundred small choices to trust instead of flinch. Do it today, and tomorrow, and the next day, and you will look up one season from now and realise you have become someone new.
